How Japanese Companies and Universities Can Recover International Competitiveness: Based on the "Lost Three Decades" of Setbacks
■ Outline
COVID19 has become a pandemic that has engulfed the world, but since the effects of this disease epidemic became clear, developed countries are also reportedly very concerned about the acceleration of economic Japanification. Japanification refers to Japan's prolonged state of economic stagnation since the bursting of the bubble economy, or the "lost three decades." In the post-corona, while economic recovery seems to be progressing in Europe, the U.S., China, and other countries, it is hard to believe that Japan's economic policies, Japanese companies' business strategies, and, ultimately, Japanese industry are not generating innovation and economic recovery is slowing down. In light of these issues, this paper is a discussion of Japanese industry, focusing on pharmaceuticals, aircraft, electronics, globalization, semiconductors, innovation, and tourism.
