■ Title Global High-Speed Railway Strategies - A Case Study of Hitachi, Ltd. |
■ Outline As part of its global railway business strategy, Hitachi, Ltd. has been implementing bold strategies rarely seen before in the Japanese infrastructure industry, including the delivery of a railway project in the UK and the construction of a plant associated with the project, and the acquisition of an Italian railway-related company in order to respond to BREXIT and participate in Asian railroad projects. The strategy is unprecedented in Japan's infrastructure industry. By analyzing these strategies, this study is to present implications for the success of Japanese companies in the global railway business and, ultimately, in the overseas expansion of infrastructure.
