  The purpose of this report is to identify the challenges of overseas business expansion mainly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to
analyze and discuss the success factors of Shigemitsu Sangyo (headquartered in Kumamoto, Japan; brand name: Ajisen Ramen; 776 stores worldwide, including 84 in Japan, 618 in China, 41 in Southeast Asia, and 15 in the U.S., as of October 2017), based on relevant public documents, seminar presentations and interviews with company officials, and present implications for the success keys of overseas expansion of SMEs.
