■ Title
The Effect of Auditory Brainstem Response on Adult Foreign Language Proficiency.
■ Outline
The relationship between brainstem responses and foreign language proficiency (listening tests) was investigated by EEG measurements of adult Japanese living in the UK. Results showed that brainstem responses controlling auditory (speech processing) significantly predicted listening ability more than factors related to motivation and experience, such as length of study and length of residence in the UK.
