  Natural Science of Kaitokudo School: Nakai Riken's interest in Western Science
■ Outline
  Kaitokudo school Confucianist Nakai Riken was interested in Natural science. This presentation introduced his materials on anatomy and astronomy. On his work "Essorouhitsu" which contains many anatomical charts, it is worthy to note that it was written before "Kaitaishinsho" which is generally considered to introduce modern western anatomy first in Japan, and that they could see the books of western anatomy then in Osaka. On astronomy, it is worthy to note that Riken had a viewpoint to see the earth from the space.
