Roles & Skills of the Diversity Manager in Japan: Development of a Research Study Framework (Research Notes)
■ 概要
Despite the critical role the diversity manager plays in a company’s strategic diversity efforts in Japan, we understand very little about the work the diversity manager does. This paper develops a research study framework used to examine the roles and skills of the diversity manager in Japan. Drawing on Constructivist Grounded Theory, the framework centers on how the diversity manager does their work, reflecting on various incidents they experience in doing their job. Based on this analysis, a database is developed of practical methods companies can draw from to manage diversity better. By doing so, we can equip companies with the tools to know how to deal with diversity and lead to strategic strength and develop a culture and environment where the diversity that exists within each employee flourishes.
