■ Title   Special Section "Discussing Geopolitics" - Part IV. Civilizations in International Relations: Huntington's Theory of Conflict

■ Outline   The three papers in this Special Section are based on a graduate-level intensive course titled "The Origins of Geopolitical Thinking", which was part of the Postgraduate General Course at the University of Tsukuba in spring 2010. The last contribution to this Special Section deals with Samuel Huntington's thesis of a coming "Clash of Civilizations". This article was formed by integrating two term papers into one article.   Christian W.
