  Sociolinguistic evaluation of linguistic diversity by software localization
■ Outline
  This study attempts to examine the level of localization of computer software from a sociolinguistic perspective. In measuring linguistic diversity, the author reviews the progress of localization of Microsoft Windows series operating systems, and compares the result with selected socio-economic factors. The author concludes that from a qualitative point of view, linguistic diversity is yet to be pursued in order to ensure more linguistic equity and fairness.
