In Search of a New Order: A Hisory of East Asian Monroe Doctrie and America Monroe Doctorine from the late 19 century to the early Cold War

In the 1890s the attentive public in Japan had keen interest in the pacifist character of Monroe Doctorine and put foward their own version of Japanese Monroe doctorine. It was quite different from so called East Asian Doctorine of the later period. This paper traces the process of frustration of original Japanese Monroe Doctorine and illustrates the formation of East Asian Monore Doctrine against the backgroud of eceptionally critical views on American Monroe Doctrine from he 1920s owards.
