  Kaishinto, Japanese Progressive Party was formed in 1952 by many politicians who could be classified as Liberal Conservative in the Liberal Democratic Party formed in 1955. Kenzo Matsumura,a former politician of the Constitutioal Democratic Party of Japan and Mamoru Shigemitsu, a formerForeig Miister, were ones of the central characters of this party. This article illustrates their views of foreign policy and demestic politics and examies its historical phases in postwar Japanese politics.
