In search of an Asian New Order: from Asian New Order to Great Eastern Coprosperity Spheres and Postwar Innterational Order
■ Outline
As Japan started nation-building as a mordern state, it needed a modern interational orderin which it could fit herself in . In the end Japan brought down the traditional international orderin East Asia and started the search for a new order which ended up with such concepts as New East Asian Order and Great Eastern Asian Coprosperity Spheres both of which were unfavourably accepted by Asian nations. Japan should have realised what Asians wanted: the Westphalian system that can allow each one of themto enjoy their sovereignty over its own territory.
